VIDA bioenergy is a leading biomethane developer and operator active in the UK, Netherlands and Poland. We have operational plants in Netherlands and UK, with further projects under development and in build. In the UK, Glentham is a 60GWh/year biomethane plant commissioned in early 2025, with an active project to expand to 260GWh/year and Wormslade is a 68GWh/year plant commissioning in Q2 2026.
Biomethane is a key technology in the transition to net zero. It is an established and proven low carbon technology with thousands of facilities globally, taking manures, agricultural & industrial wastes and by-products and using bacteria to convert this into biomethane and an organic fertiliser. VTTI has already invested over $100m into RNG projects in the Netherlands and the UK with our first projects online. With development offices across Europe, VTTI has a pipeline of projects that will lead to a further investment in excess of $500m as it continues to build its portfolio of biomethane assets.
As the Improvement Engineer you will be responsible for the leading operational improvement activities for the VIDA bioenergy biomethane plants in the UK. Reporting to UK General Manager, you will have safety, operations and engineering responsibility for capital improvement and continuous improvement activities. Initially the role will be based at our Glentham, Lincolnshire plant expanding to cover Wormslade, Leicestershire once that plant is commissioned. As we expand and construct more sites the role will expand (travel and expenses paid).
This is VIDA’s first biomethane plant in the UK and part of an ambitious desire to build a portfolio of biomethane plants. Someone from an operations or engineering background and with leadership, first line management or supervisory experience in a highly regulated industry is required. The successful candidate will also be capable of self-starting, using their initiative and being hands on. Experience in identifying, scoping and leading operational improvement projects is highly desirable.
