About VIDA Bioenergy

VIDA Bioenergy develops and operates biomethane plants in the UK, Netherlands and Poland. With operational sites in place and a strong development pipeline, VTTI has already invested over $100M in RNG projects and expects to exceed $500M as new plants are built.

Our new Wormslade facility (60 GWh/year) will begin commissioning in early 2026, with full production expected by summer 2026.


Job Summary

As a key member of the Wormslade Plant team you will be responsible for leading the maintenance of our biomethane plant in Market Harborough. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will have safety and engineering responsibility for the day to day on plant maintenance activities which you and third-party contractors will conduct with support from the operations team. As we expand and construct more sites you may occasionally be required to provide support to other sites (travel and expenses paid). The successful candidate will also be capable of self-starting, using their initiative and being hands on to deliver solutions and drive plant reliability.

Experience

  • Several years working at an AD facility, ideally at a senior maintenance level is essential
  • Sound knowledge Software control , Mechanical , and Electrical maintenance requirements
  • Experience of using modern HMI control systems on automated plant is essential
  • Effective trouble shooting abilities
  • Outstanding planning skills
  • Exceptional leadership and team building qualities

Duties

  • Responsible for all maintenance activities at the VIDA bioenergy Wormslade biomethane site
  • Be responsible for the adherence to site rules, completion of assigned routines and safety performance of all maintenance tasks including contractors whilst working on site
  • Own, develop and deliver the plant maintenance strategy to support plant performance
  • Be responsible for the planning and accurate recording of all maintenance activities with the site CMMS system
  • Supervise and support contractor activities on site and lead Contractor Management on site
  • On Call on rotation basis for any alarms
  • Lead the planning and preparation for major overhauls and maintenance events with support from the operations team
  • Support the Plant Manager to ensure that business needs are safely and efficiently delivered in a timely manner
  • Support the Plant Manager, assisting with plant equipment troubleshooting and implementing solutions, applying a continuous improvement mindset
  • Support the Plant Manager with the raising and goods receiving of maintenance related purchase orders
  • Ensure maintenance spend is controlled and excellent value for money is achieved through appropriate contractor and materials selection
  • Deputise for the Plant Manager if required to cover holidays and absence
  • Share the ownership for site housekeeping and support the Lead Plant Operator to keep the site clean and tidy
  • Produce simple monthly reports relating to maintenance activities, training plans for direct reports, and data handling for EA reporting requirements

Safety

  • To report any hazards and unsatisfactory observations / behaviours of staff and contractors to line manager
  • Be proactive in Near Miss reporting
  • Be involved in HSE root cause analysis investigations and participate in HSE meetings

Working Hours

  • Working hours will be day based within the normal Monday to Friday weekly period.
  • 08:00 – 17:00 with 1 hour unpaid break
  • Some flexibility is needed and may be required to cover occasional extended day working
