Your role as Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager leads and directs capital investment project(s) and is responsible for the successful development and execution of large-scale RNG (renewable natural gas) project(s). Typical project scope includes feedstock processing, anaerobic digestion systems, biogas cleaning & upgrading, digestate treatment, including utilities and infrastructure. The ideal candidate has extensive project management experience in both Front End Loading and the execution phases. He/she has a strong background in both technical and business aspects, with proven skills in stakeholder management.

What you’ll do

  • Responsible for large scale RNG projects, ensuring safe execution, high quality work, on schedule completion and handover to Operations (end-to-end) within the approved budget.
  • Manage safety in all aspects (process & people) throughout project life cycle and instill a safety culture in the project environment.
  • Closely coordinate with Business Development / Commercial and other representatives from Operations, and HSE (including permitting) department to ensure alignment between business and project drivers.
  • Establish and maintain a right-sized Project Team with quality resources to successfully deliver the project safely, efficiently and predictably.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policy and compliance with the Project Stage Gate processes, driving rigorously RNG project through all project stages.
  • Ensure adequate governance is in place for your RNG projects through Investment Committee Boards as well as individual projects SteerCos and Governance Boards as needed.
  • Drive project’s competitiveness by implementing Value Engineering practices as applicable, and minimize design changes that can generate delays and/or cost impacts
  • Provide assurance on RNG project performance approving project procedures and project execution plans including the scope of work, deliverables list, master schedule, budget, org charts, risk register.
  • Actively Manage RNG project risk register and convey project risks to stakeholders.
  • Monitor adherence to schedule, cost and quality and proactively intervene to avoid slippage by putting recovery plans in place when/as needed.
  • Ensure Change Management process is strictly followed to identify and approve modifications to scope, cost, schedule and quality.
  • Provide comprehensive, concise and fully documented RNG contract closeout report, including key lessons learned, and areas of improvement.

What we’re looking for

  • University degree (bachelors or masters) in Engineering or relevant discipline with combination of qualifications and experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience;
  • Good communication skills in Dutch and English, both spoken and written;
  • A solid track record of project delivery performance in a highly agile environment.
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of engineering principles and contract management.
  • Deep understanding of project management stage gate processes and deliverable management.
  • Hands-on, inquisitive, resourceful.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Vast experience in stakeholder engagement, driving performance of a multi-disciplinary team, self-reflective and supportive.
  • Ability to work with different cultures and travel to various locations in Europe (e.g. project location, vendors, contractors, etc.)
  • Experience in the renewable natural gas (biomethane) industry is a plus.

The process and the number of interviews depending on the seniority level and the location of the role. All candidates for the same position will follow the same process.

Depending on the role we might ask you to prepare a technical task or business case or ask you to complete a short personality assessment, a skills assessment, or a full day in-person assessment. The purpose of this is to give us a better sense of how you approach problem-solving, your leadership style and/or how you would apply your skills to the role.
